Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download private Twitter/X videos?

No. DownXVideo only supports videos from public Twitter/X posts.

Why may a Twitter/X video link fail?

A link may fail if the post is private, deleted, restricted, has no supported video, the media URL expired, or the resolver is temporarily rate limited.

Does DownXVideo host the video file?

No. DownXVideo does not save video files or create a download history. It only uses public media information needed to help your browser save the file.

Is DownXVideo safe to use?

DownXVideo is designed to keep the flow simple: paste a public post URL, review the available MP4 options, and save through your browser. It should never ask you to install an extension, enter your X password, or click a fake download button.

Does DownXVideo store my links or download history?

No account history is created. DownXVideo is designed not to save submitted Twitter/X links, downloaded files, or download history, and analytics should not record full post URLs.

Do I need to sign in to X or share cookies?

No. Do not enter X credentials, cookies, access tokens, or private account data. DownXVideo only accepts public x.com or twitter.com post links.

Why does an MP4 link open in Safari instead of saving?

Some mobile browsers play MP4 links in a new tab. Long press the download link and choose Save Link As, Download Linked File, or Save to Files when available.

Where are downloaded videos saved on Android?

Most Android browsers save MP4 files to the Downloads folder. Open the Files app or your browser download list if you do not see the file right away.

How do I save the video on a desktop browser?

After opening an MP4 link on Mac or PC, use the browser download prompt or right click the video player and choose Save Video As.

Is it legal to save Twitter/X videos?

Use this tool only for videos you own, have permission to use, or are otherwise allowed to save. Respect copyright, creator rights, and platform terms.
